If you have the same netgear model as I, you can download the original firmware here: WGR614v9
that site above worked like a charm! complete instructions on how to unbrick your router.! I just found this thread and hopefuly it'll work. If you use the wrong firmware, it often won't flash. Make sure you are using the correct firmware for your router. I take it, from your post, that you are trying to put stock firmware on the router. It is likely worth a read of the first page of that thread. thanksĭetailed steps on how to tftp firmware on your router are found in note 11 of the peacock thread as well. but im going to need the bin files and whatnot, which i dont have, and i cant find. lol Im also thinking about doing the JTAG thing. I was just wondering if anyone has sucessfully recovered one of these routers from a 'brick' or whatever everyones calling it.? and if so. and a steady orange light right next to it.ĭoesnt register as i connected to a network or anything when I plug my notebook into it (the green light comes on the router tho), and its not showing up on my list of wireless networks. All its doing is blinking the green power light, which its not suppose to do. I just HAD to have the newest firmware for some reason. so I unplugged it and did the hard restart thing, and nothing. I was upgrading my router (WGR614v9) from firmware version 1.0.1 or something to 2.2.6 and it froze while it was updating.
